Porte Communities and Integral Strategic Real Estate Break Ground on Two Purpose-Built Rental Communities in Calgary
September 18, 2026, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Porte Communities (“Porte”) and Integral Strategic Real Estate Ltd. (“Integral”) are pleased to announce the start of construction on two new purpose-built rental communities in Calgary, marking an important milestone in their strategic partnership and continued investment in the city.
The two developments – located at 121 17 Avenue SW, near Calgary’s dynamic Stampede Grounds, and 270 Dieppe Drive SW, in the vibrant Currie Barracks neighbourhood – will deliver much-needed, well-designed rental housing to help meet the growing demand for urban living in Calgary. Together, the $115 million investment will provide 285 rental homes across more than 225,000 square feet of gross buildable area in four to six storey wood-frame buildings.
The groundbreakings mark a significant investment for the partnership between Porte and Integral and reflect their shared confidence in Calgary’s long-term housing market.

Both communities are being designed to provide purpose-built rental housing in established, well-connected neighbourhoods, with convenient access to employment, amenities, recreation and transportation.

The partnership’s investment in Calgary extends beyond the 17th Avenue and Currie developments, with additional projects in the municipal approval process and further opportunities being actively pursued in excellent inner-city locations.
Together, Porte and Integral bring complementary expertise to the partnership, combining Porte’s more than five decades of experience in development, construction, leasing and property management with Integral’s more than three decades of institutional expertise in asset and portfolio management, investments and capital strategy.
Construction is now underway at 121 17 Avenue SW and 270 Dieppe Drive SW, with both communities anticipated to welcome residents in 2028.
