Holiday Season Food Drive
With the holiday season fast approaching, Porte will be participating in a food drive with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Surrey Food Bank and Sources Food Bank (White Rock) – we will be collecting food items at head office (33 East 8th Ave) as well as all of our residential buildings from December 1st until Friday, December 22nd
In addition to collecting food items, we have organized an online fundraiser page with a goal of $3,500 by December 22nd. Porte will match EVERY donation received – together we can donate $7,000 to these causes this holiday season! Even better, for every $1 given, the food banks are able to purchase $3 worth of nutritious food for families. With Porte’s matching donation and the Food Bank’s buying power, your donation will go 6 TIMES as far!
A group of us went to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank last week and learnt that office food drives have the least success rate due to people being in a rush and bringing in expired / unhealthy foods that they simply don’t want in their cupboards any more. Please think twice about the items you’re bringing in and if you don’t have anything at home – donate cash online! CASH IS KING!
