JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the VP Finance and Accounting, the Development Accounting Manager performs duties for Porte Development Corporation, including full cycle accounting for development projects, cash flow preparation, receivable, accounts payable, data entry, bank deposits and month-end reporting duties.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Deliver and complete accurate multi-year draw requests to support cash management objectives.
  • Complete all time-sensitive deliverables accurately, including draw processing and deposit and sales reconciliations
  • Ensure closings are accounted for to properly recognize revenues
  • Ensure regulatory filings happen on schedule
  • Complete full-cycle accounting and month-end close
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the internal customer group (development, marketing, sales, legal, customer care, corporate accounting)
  • Assists with the preparation of finance proposals.
  • Produces cash flow proformas for the development projects
  • Working with managers and staff, prepares an annual budget and monitors the budget against actual revenues and expenditures on an ongoing basis.
  • Reports on the operating budget, and on overall project budgets, and tracks and reports on budget variances.
  • Assists the preparation of the draw (loan) requests and follows up to ensure funding, with the contractor, lender, quantity surveyor and others.
  • Monitors and follows up with return of letters of credit and deposits.
  • Liaises with development team on proforma inputs

TEAMWORK AND SUPERVISION:

  • Participates as a member of the Accounting team and the Development team

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required training, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years development accounting experience.
  • Experience in both commercial and residential is preferred.
  • Strong writing and self review skills.
  • Strong technical and administrative skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Yardi Job Cost.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well individually and in teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Technology savvy
  • Ability to write and communicate clear ideas
